Who Forms Tunza?

Tunza providers are medical practitioners already in a private practice; meet the regulatory requirements to run the health facility, serve low income populations and subsequently enter into a signed agreement with Population Services Kenya (PS Kenya) to join the network.

By agreeing to serve as a Tunza franchisee, a provider commits to adhere to the standards and procedures of the network and in return enjoys access to capacity building, demand creation among other benefits.

PS Kenya has used this model to increase the availability of quality health care by improving existing health facilities, a far more cost-effective approach than building and setting up new facilities.

The Tunza network accounts for approximately 11% of all private facilities and 3% of all healthcare facilities in the country.
